Fallon Samuels Aidoo PhD '17
Dr. Fallon Samuels Aidoo’s research and teaching of design and development builds knowledge of real estate reinvestment, restoration, rehabilitation, and retrofit by governmental, private, philanthropic, and nonprofit organizations—and the lack thereof in places predominantly occupied by Black, Indigenous, and immigrant populations. With these marginalized and minoritized populations, Dr. Aidoo conducts community-based, participatory, and applied research on public financing models, private investment practices, and philanthropic aid programs that preserve their built environments, culture, and economies.
Dr. Aidoo is a preservation planner interested in the history and future of real estate, which is vital to community resilience, revitalization, and remembrance, yet vulnerable to disinvestment, deterioration, and disasters. She conducts preservation planning and creates preservation histories through two channels: Principal of studio RxP, a preservation consulting firm, and Assistant Professor of Real Estate and Historic Preservation at Tulane School of Architecture. Through studio RxP, Dr. Aidoo supports governments, companies, families, and communities striving to preserve and protect what they hold dear.
