Kristina Yu MArch ’95 and Raimund McClain MArch ’00 with McCLAIN + YU Architecture & Design were honored with the AIA Albuquerque Merit Award in Remodel and Adaptive Reuse for the University of New Mexico’s Lobo Welcome Center. The design reinterprets John Gaw Meem’s adobe legacy through a ceramic clay rain-screen system, preserving the material’s visual weight while enhancing durability and thermal performance.
