Timur F. Galen

Timur F. Galen chairs the boards of trustees of the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and the board of directors of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, is an executive committee board member of the Regional Plan Association, a trustee of the Canadian Centre for Architecture and a founding director of the Urban Design Forum. A former member of the board of managers at Haverford College where he chaired its property committee, he has also served as a special advisor to the New York Public Library and a member of the US Department of State’s Overseas Building Operations Industry Advisory Group.

Mr. Galen is the Chief Workplace Officer at Citadel. Prior to this Timur was an executive vice president with Related Companies and part of the senior executive team for the development of Hudson Yards. Previously, Mr. Galen was also a partner at Goldman Sachs where he served as their global co-head of Corporate Services and Real Estate and led the firm’s move to their global headquarters at 200 West Street and the transformative redevelopment of its New York/New Jersey campus, including 30 Hudson Street and the Conrad New York hotel and retail complex.

Mr. Galen earned a BA in Physics from Haverford College, a Master of Architecture and a Master of Civil and Urban Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, was a Henry Luce Foundation Research Fellow at Tokyo University.
