Members of the Josep Lluís Sert Council are invited to a reception and conversation in New York with Gary Hilderbrand MLA ’85, Peter Louis Hornbeck Professor in Practice of Landscape Architecture at the GSD and Principal of Reed Hilderbrand.

Professor Hilderbrand will engage the group with a series of design speculations for expanding high-performance landscape infrastructure by reprioritizing the space for streets and sidewalks in New York. This work builds on a sequence of three recent option studios: Now Arriving: A Manhattan Transit Landscape; Broadway Shuffle II: Performance/Space, and Broadway Shuffle at Madison Square: The Surface is Alive!

Hosted by Ken Smith MLA ’86, guests are invited to a fun evening of beverages, bites, and discussion on how Professor Hilderbrand is encouraging aspiring designers to reimagine the public realm of New York City.
