Rahul Mehrotra is an educator and practicing architect. With his firm RMA Architects, founded in 1990, he has executed a broad range of projects across India. He is Professor of Urban Design and Planning at the GSD, as well as a member of the steering committee of the South Asia Institute. He has lectured extensively on architecture, conservation, and urban planning, and has written, co-authored, or edited a large repertoire of books on the urban history, historic buildings, public spaces, and planning processes of Mumbai. As a trustee of the Urban Design Research Institute (UDRI), based in that city, he continues to be involved as an activist in civic and urban affairs.
