Kenneth Ken-Sin Martin Kao MArch ’83 passed away on April 10, 2017, after a long illness. A lecturer at the GSD from 1988-2011, Kao is remembered by the School for his intellectual contributions, as well as his kindness and caring for students. In addition to his academic pursuits, Kao founded the Boston-based studio, Kao Design Group (KDG), which focuses on conceptual architectural designs, municipal infrastructure, building technologies, and sustainable island master planning,

A service of thanksgiving for Ken’s life will be held at the Old North Church (35 Washington Street, Marblehead, MA 01945) on Saturday, April 29th, beginning at 10 am.
