Sebastian Schmidt Dalzon, Administrative Director, Initiatives and Academic Projects at Harvard Graduate School of Design

Sebastian Schmidt Dalzon is an urban and architectural historian focusing on war, race, and memory issues in the United States, Germany, and Japan in the 20th and 21st centuries.

He holds a PhD in the History and Theory of Architecture (MIT), an MSc in Urban Studies (The University of Edinburgh), and a BA in Cultural Studies (Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf).

Sebastian’s work uses interdisciplinary approaches to investigate the urban environment as a meeting place of ideological, economic, and governmental powers, paying attention to the social construction of narratives around ethnicity, race, and gender.

Gia Jung MArch ’20, MUP ’21, Irving Innovation Fellow, Research Associate at Lab for Design Technologies at Harvard Graduate School of Design

Gia Jung is currently serving as an Irving Innovation Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her research focuses on design technology, human-computer interaction, computational design, and AI application.

As a designer and graduate researcher at Harvard, she has worked on architectural and urban design and research projects across Europe, America, and Asia.

Outside academia, she has worked in the design and technology sector at Fortune 500 companies and start-ups, designing and developing physical and digital media and computational AI software platforms for virtual design collaboration.
